Award Winning!

Everyone at KASL is proud of our Sports Director, David Burrall!  David won the 2nd place plaque from his peers across Wyoming for his outstanding play-by-play coverage of our Newcastle Dogies! Every year members of the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters gather together to visit with their friends and other industry insiders in our great state.  We catch up on industry trends, legalities and other important issues that are facing the broadcast industry across the state and the nation.  We also take the time to honor those among us who are the best in their field from across all of Wyoming.

On Saturday night, June 19th, David was called to the podium of the WAB convention to receive this honor.  This is the second time in three years that David has been recognized by the WAB, and other sports broadcasters from around the state, for his professionalism and quality play-by-play broadcasts.  Two years ago they recognized him as the best small market play-by-play announcer in the state!  This year they honored him with the second place trophy, but when you consider the quality of talent that broadcasts local high school games around the state, even second place places him among the elite!

KASL owner/manager Val Cook said, ”We are incredibly fortunate to have David at KASL.  David came to us from one of the nation’s largest radio markets, the Dallas Metro area.  He brought that major market experience with him.  He could have gone elsewhere and I know he has had other job offers since he came here.  But, he has told me that he love’s being here.  He loves the Dogies!  All of us, not just KASL radio, but everyone who enjoys Newcastle sports should be thankful for his talents and commitment to our listening enjoyment of the radio station and Dogie sports broadcasts.”

Congratulations, David!  Keep up the great work, and thank you for being a big part of the Newcastle area, KASL and Newcastle High School Sports!
